Please plan on joining us in celebrating National Alpaca Farm Day.  We are joining other farms nationwide to show you the joys and benefits of owning and raising alpacas.  You can visit with our alpacas.  Feel the softness of their fiber.  Visit our farm store for new alpaca yarn, socks, gloves, jackets, pashminas and scarves.

We do have 6 new crias (baby alpacas) and another one expected any day.  The crias are lots of fun to watch.

Our alpaca camp will be for elementary students in the 4th, 5th , or 6th grades.  The program starts Thursday, September 25 and continues every Tuesday and Thursday afterschool from 3:30 – 5:00 PM.  The final program is Saturday, November 1.  The camp is limited to 6 students.

Activities will include:

Participating in daily farm activities (gathering eggs, caring for alpacas).

Working with alpacas, learning basic handling practices (haltering, leading).

Observing alpaca behavior and developing an understanding of how alpacas differ from other animals, particularly how they differ from human animals.

Participants will have opportunities for reflection and creative expression (photography, needle felting, art projects, creative writing).

A healthy snack will be provided each afternoon.

Fee:  A sliding scale of $180-$220 for the six week session, paying what you are able.

Please contact Susan for more information or to register for the class.
