Fall and Winter 2007
This seems to be the busiest season as there are the fall alpaca shows and this is the shopping season for alpaca apparel. We had a farm booth at Yankee Candle over Labor Day weekend. This is a very busy event with bus loads of people showing up all the time. Many people are curious about alpacas and we were happy to discuss the joys of alpaca ownership with them. We also sold yarn and other items.
The alpaca Farm Day occurred at the same time as the Big E in Springfield, September 29-30. We elected to do the farm day event. The advertisement in the local paper, the AOBA website listing, flyers, and signs worked as we ended up having about 200 visitors. A big success!
We purchased a junior herdsire that we are very excited about. We now co-own River Brewmaster along with our partners, the Lathrup’s at Great Rock Alpacas, and the Kings’ at Skyeview Alpacas. River Brewmaster is a medium Silver Grey out of Black Expresso and has done well in the shows with several blue ribbons and a Championship. He will be featured as the Stud de Month in the winter edition of the NEOBA magazine. His fleece is exceptional.
The farm also hosted a special event the two weekends after Thanksgiving. We had many visitors and I think people really enjoyed visiting with the animals, finding them very curious and magical.
